Koba Kobaladze awarded the participants of Zurab Iarajuli Memorial Tournament

Koba Kobaladze awarded the athletes who participated in the Memorial Tournament named after Zurab Iarajuli. Between March 14-15 of 2023, the memorial tournament in Judo named after Georgian National Hero Zurab Iarajuli was organized by Non-entrepreneurial Legal Entity Student and Youth Center “Gantiadi”. The event was supported by the State Service of Veteran Affairs and the District Administration of Samgori. The memorial tournament was held between boys born in 2009-2010 and girls born in 2009-2010 at the sport hall of the Center.

 

The competition, in which nearly 350 young athletes of our country participated, was held in 19 weight categories. The holders of the winner places were presented with special cups, medals and certificates of the State Service of Veteran Affairs by Major General Koba Kobaladze, Director of the Service, Lia Yarajuli, sister of Zurab Yarajuli, and Kakha Samkharadze, Governor of Samgori District.


The National Memorial  Judo Tournament named after Georgian national hero, Zurab Iarajuli, was founded in 2023 and will be held every year at the initiative of the organizers.
